Yesterday was the first day of Kindergarten for my best friend’s little girl.
She looks ready to take on the world, doesn’t she? Credit her wonderful parents for that.
There will be many firsts in her life, and for the people who love her. I remember seeing her for the first time, the first time I held her. It seems like yesterday, though she was just a wee babe at the time.
Nope, not gonna get weird. I promised myself.
Happy First Day of real school, kiddo.

Both my children looked like little angels on their first days of school. My son was fine. My daughter, on the other hand, gave into temptation with some bad influences early on. lol Wasn’t too bad, though. Just a little Chatty Cathy-ness. She got over it.

My son is going to preschool again this year. He can read, has been reading since he was 3 and can write pretty well too but they won’t test him for Kindergarten because his b-day is in Dec. It’s probably a good thing though because looking at your friend’s daughter in “real school” made me tear up!

Kim, I know! The teacher gave the parents a really sweet note and BFB teared up. Not gonna say I didn’t get misty. It’s just one of those landmark events.
A’s birthday is in December as well! 
Now she is just the best thing since the wings on your old car. My granddaughter starts pre K this year. Now THEY are going to have a fight on their hands with Jada. She looks like me, acts like me and has my attitude, or at least my attitude when I was 4. I wish all the new mommies with first day of school blues go on and have yourself a good cry and stop it long enough for their eyes to recover before you pick them back up. Then you can start all over again.

Seriously… isn’t this just weird? I remember my Mom walking me to my first day of Kindergarten [we lived next to the school]! I remember hating Sparks Elementry School and everyone and everything in it. LOL! Especially my teacher. Sorry, Mrs. Who, but she was not like you! 
AND I remember my first day in 2nd grade in Texas, and setting eyes on the RedHeaded stranger, Gwen.
