The words sculpting the political landscape in 2001 were ‘disenfranchise’, ‘recount’ and of course ‘hanging chad’. It’s highly ironic that Democrats were behind all the chaos because they now want to disenfranchise voters in Michigan and Florida. I’m not a Dem, but I believe that everyone’s vote should count, no matter the party politics.
While a DNC memo suggested some delegates from both states could be seated, a federal judge today dismissed a lawsuit that would seat Florida delegates.
The [DNC] memo states that seating half of Florida’s and Michigan’s delegates for the party’s August convention is “as far as it legally can go.”
WHY? If the party makes the rules, can’t the party change the rules, especially if it will result in NO VOTERS being DISENFRANCHISED? Seating half the delegates would be futile; how would they choose? Half for BHO & half for HRC? Ineffective, and anything else would be giving one candidate preferential treatment over the other.
If the party of disenfranchisement turn their backs on Michigan and Florida, the hypocrisy will linger like skunk stink!
