HERE IS THE ORIGINAL NEWS STORY ABOUT BOLO!
Bolo the Rottweiler was the subject of a felony abuse case in Houston. He was found cinched up *in* a tree, almost dead. A witness saw him being beaten with a baseball bat while hanging there from the chain on his neck that was grown over by his fur and skin.
The Humane Society took Bolo and subsequently released him to Rottweiler rescue. Rescue fostered him while he was treated for heartworm and neutered. He is now heartworm free and waiting for a forever home.
The Problem: Rescue is FULL and the foster who had him now has a dog with osteosarcoma, who had to have a leg amputated. She has her hands full, so Bolo had to go back to the pound. He is running out of time at the pound!
Bolo is a very young dog at only 2 -3 years old and has never shown any human or dog aggression. Though smart -the foster taught him to sit- he is stubborn and needs a home or foster that will take him to basic obedience class to learn some manners.
Bolo loves baths and is neutered and heartworm free. He is crate trained, which will make it easy to housebreak him. [Though nobody seems to know if he is, I'm assuming he is not.]
He loves to be outside and would do well with a big yard!
When he first came into rescue at Debra’s home as a foster, she could not even pet him. He’d immediately drop to the ground if he saw a hand coming toward him. She worked with him and he now knows that not all humans are evil.
After all Bolo has been through he needs his chance at a good life. Can you help?
EMAIL me if you want further details and I’ll put you in touch with the rescue group coordinator.
UPDATED 5.1.2008: Just spoke with Bolo’s foster home [before he went back to the SPCA for heartworm treatment]. She said that the only reason why Bolo has not been put down yet is because he is SO sweet and he’s got so many people pulling for him…

I hope Bolo finds a good home soon.

Best of luck and wishes to Bolo.. I hope he finds a home. What a sad story.
