I know this isn’t a big deal for many people, but the long awaited 2.5 version of WordPress was just released to the public. It takes a major step - or several - forward, as many changes have been made both under the hood and in admin design and usage. There’s a built in gallery that I can’t wait to play with!

WordPress.org has gotten a makeover to go with the new release as well, and WordPress.com will be upgraded within the week.

According to Peter Westwood, there were over 1300 changes made!

I can’t wait to play with it… but I’ll have to, since Fantastico won’t upgrade for another week or so… which will give developers time to find out which plugins and themes are broken and fix ‘em for us.
