A legal expert in Mexico is claiming that unborn babies are really Chimpanzees.

Dr. Jorge Carpizo McGregor claims that “for the topic of abortion, there are very important scientific advances that prove that the DNA of chimpanzees is 99 percent identical to that of a human being. The difference between ourselves and chimpanzees is one percent, this quantity that makes the difference is the central nervous system.”

“Before twelve weeks of gestation, there is no cerebral cortex, that is to say, there is no human being, the cortex is formed around the 25th week. This is a very important piece of information because those who attack abortion say that a human being is being killed and it isn’t true.”

When it comes to the abortion debate, I guess everything is fair game, including our DNA… but isn’t this just a little too ridiculous? Carpizo is claiming that where there is no cerebral cortex there is no human being. How callously small his thinking; how limited.

Geesh…I don’t even know what to say about this kind of nonsense. I suppose my knee-jerk reactions would be unfit for print. I agree most heartily with your post title, though. I’ll just leave it at that.

My thinking has always been that if we can kill children in the womb, why not give mothers a hunting permit until the kids become 18?

And why is it that a fetus is fair game, but when a child pops out, he’s protected so thoroughly that his mom and dad are not even legally allowed to pop him on the butt anymore??

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, just as your mother was. I respect both, though I do find it ironic when men profess to be pro-choice. Not because they should have no voice in the matter, of course… just for the obvious reason of physiology.

I support a woman’s right to choose whether or not to have an abortion as circumstances dictate in her life.

I support a woman’s right to haved a child as circumstances dictate ibn her life.

I do not support anyone’s right to dictate to a woman (over 18) whether she should or should not conceive whether she is pregnant and deciding within the parameters of existing laws or merely contemplating it.
