I have a great little cartoon hanging on my fridge, of a drawing of a cartoon refrigerator, entitled: “James Joyce’s Refrigerator.” Hanging on it is a “To Do” list, which reads, as follows:

TO DO

1. Call Bank
2. Dry Cleaner
3. Forge in the smithy of my soul the uncreated conscience of my race.
4. Call Mom.

For some reason, that always makes me giggle.
