August 31st is Blog Day this year and though I’ve never participated before, it sounds like a good idea for discovering new blogs and bloggers! I’ve already started looking… It won’t be difficult; simply go to a blog you love and take a look at their linkage for some names you’ve overlooked.
BlogDay posting instructions:
1. Find 5 new Blogs that you find interesting
2. Notify the 5 bloggers that you are recommending them as part of BlogDay 2007
3. Write a short description of the Blogs and place a link to the recommended Blogs
4. Post the BlogDay Post (on August 31st) and
5. Add the BlogDay tag using this link:
http://technorati.com/tag/BlogDay2007 and a link to the BlogDay web site at
http://www.blogday.org
1) Belladrama I’m sure many bloggers know aithne, but she’s new to me! We’ve both been blogging since 2001… and guess what? She’s got neighbor trouble too!
2) BECAUSE I SAID SO Dawn is a stay at home Mom of six. She claims to have only 14 brain cells left, but there must be more than that cuz this is quote I latched onto: “That’s very true, honey. God does give second chances. But I’m not God. Now go to bed.” LOL!
3) Alex in Wonderland It seems everyone knows Alex [fellow munuvian!] but I didn’t. Then came the wedding announcement…. Congrats to the happy couple!
4) Primordial Slack I like Joan of Argghh!; she has a category called ‘pirates’. Argh, Joan, fellow Floridian!
5) The State of Sunshine is a Tampa based political blog. I wasn’t aware of Jim’s site until he made an erudite comment here a day or two ago. Apparently, I was smart to listen…
The five mentioned blogs have been added to my Google Reader so I can now keep up with them.

I reckon I’ll play but I kinda sorta do this all year. I go out looking for the good stuff and the ones I like I link at least once and sometimes more just to get people to go by and take a look. There are some damn good sites out there that will only get seen if some of us who have a couple of readers every day link them.
