I don’t think she can ban it legally… there’s still that little item in the constitution called “freedom of speech”. As a government entity, I believe general banning of words is a breach of the Constitution. I could be wrong about that, but I don’t think so.

Couple of things should be pointed out here. First, it would not matter if the n-word was at one time the word of God, what does matter is its 300 year old vile, heinest and diabolical history. The original intent and purpose of this word has since been downgraded to a racial slur.

Second, yes there are websites all over the internet as a means of educating the public on why this word needs to be eradicated from the vocabulary of all African Americans. This word has a built up energy of almost 400 years of power. And what adds to this power in terms of its intent and purpose are those African Americans who are using it as slang and not the websites on the internet.

Also, I was glad to see that you made reference to the words Nazi and Hitler. You, however, over-looked one salient point. The Holocaust. The Jewish community have museums all around the country and have made motion pictures about it making sure that the world never forgets those infamous 12 years. And understandably so, seeing as how the African American’s Holocaust lasted more than 250 years. 250 years than no-one, black or white, really care to re-visit, albeit for different reasons.

The TV serial on Roots pales in comparison to all that actually went on, events that would make Hitler look like a choir boy in comparison. No, America would not want to see a campaign launched on the African American Holocaust in a similar manner as the Jews have done relative to their Holocaust.

When the term ban or abolish is used people don’t understand what’s being implied. Reality suggest that the word in and of itself can’t be made to disappear that simply isn’t going to happen. No! The objective instead is to stop African Americans from referring to one another as the n-word. It is the most idiotic, moronic and insane thing to do by taking this word and using it affectionately and endearingly.

To sit back and encourage blacks to continue down this mindless road smacks of condescension. You are not going to degrade and demean yourself in such a manner so why imply that its okay for blacks too. There is no gray area here either you find this practice of blacks degrading and demeaning themselves to be a despicable act or you don’t. And to find this act despicable does not make you a racist, just simply a realist.

Yeah, its easy to see how this whole thing can be confusing. For the longest while nothing was being said about the use of the n-word.
Those using the word as slang were just simply having their way. Where the confusion comes in at is when non-blacks assume that all blacks are okay with the use of this word. Nothing could be further from the truth. What’s happening now is that the silent minority is starting to speak up.

You are correct when you say that when blacks use the word they are not using it in a degrading and demeaning way to one another. However, that does not change the meaning, intent and purpose of the word itself. Would you run around calling yourself a pedophile? Of course not and the reason you would not is because of what that word means and stands for.

The n-word has a history behind it which the ascendants of African Americans wore the brunt of. Sometime during the last century the meaning, intent and purpose of this word was downgraded to that of a racial slur. There isn’t another word in the English language that can be compared to this word and all that it stood for. However, both black and white America alike, today, have very little knowledge of this history. You will not learn about it in our public school systems, only through personal research will you discover just how ugly and stinking this word truly is.

This is why the Jewish community makes such a big deal out of the Holocaust, because they understand human nature and the tendency to forget and when you forget History has a way of repeating itself.

It is what this word stood for and what our ancestors had to endure as a result that makes it all so moronic and idiotic for African Americans to keep it alive with tender loving care. No its not expected of you to walk up to those who use this word and tell them not to use it but nor is it expected of you to verbally condone it either.

Patti Smith several weeks ago made the comment that the n-word should be raised to a mantle of honor. Now that’s really taking it to another level of stupidity. There is absolutely nothing…honorable…about that word.
