This is how Zoe recovers from the heat.
I know… two in a row.
Of course.
One caveat [of which you are probably already aware]: Dachshunds, like all long backed breeds, i.e. Corgis, suffer from degenerative disc disease. It doesn’t strike all dachsies alike, of course, but the vet just gave me a warning… “Get some insurance on Zoe right away, even though she seems healthy a disc could go out at any time and surgery to correct runs from 5,000. to 8,000. Luckily, the specialist who does the procedure is local and is on call 24/7.”
I’ve never bought canine health insurance and I’m not sure I’ll do so now, but forewarned is forearmed.
Two in a row? I can never have enough.
:-D
ROFL - I can see her now, dragging out the cloth and running it under water and laying it on her back.
…and it’s so cute when she hauls out that little stepladder so that her paws will reach the sink… ![]()
It just makes me smile. And tilt my head to the left.

This is little Button with her fan.
What is that near her backside… a toy stingray? Is she really getting into the ‘feeling like it is cool’ mode? Very cute.
You’re good! She’s got a bunch of those mini Ty beanie babies from McDonald’s, and the Stingray is one of them.
Zoe so photogenic, I could look at a whole page of her pictures. The only thing I don’t like about dachshunds is that I can never remember how to spell the name correctly. d-a-s-h-u-n-d-s… no, d-a-c-h…. etc
…and then there is the ever popular ‘doxie’…
I thought of you while I was on vacation. My aunt and uncle have a dachshund and my boys fell IN LOVE with her. They want one in the worst way. After the hamster dies. Of course.
