Okay, this is the comment I was trying to post over at Technicalities on Teresa’s ‘I Should Be Dead’ post…. but there were too many people commenting, or spam overwhelmed the system. Again.
Well, when I looked for a trackback url I got an error.

I’m telling you, WordPress RULES! [cue maniacal laugh]

I don’t know if my birth mother smoked, but like you I grew up in a home with smokers… Our house was full of smoke, period. I’m sure I smelled wonderful at school.

My Dad died of lung cancer at age 56… but Mom died of old age at 90. There’s a gene disparity, obviously. Wish we could isolate the markers early on so the folks who are predisposed to cancer cells could take precautions… or not. But at least they’d have a chance.

Arthur smokes, and it freaked me out when he reached his 56th birthday… but he’ll be 60 in August and his chest x-rays are still fine.
I can’t help but worry, but his ancestors are all long-lived, smokers or no.
