Touristy is actually a word, according to M-W. Imagine.
I thought it fit because of something I heard on the radio yesterday: that most South Floridians don’t take advantage of the natural and artificial wonders around us. We have an embarrassment of riches at our doorsteps, from the miles of beaches and Everglades to the Zoos, Gator farms and SeaWorld. South Beach shows off a plethora of finely honed, underfed models all year round and the folks at Parrot Jungle, a small, over-priced island, are happy to let birds poop on your head. Just part of the experience, folks. I can tell you that I can’t even GET to the darn beach, there are so many people there, and it’s not the ’season’.
Their data is flawed. The roads are bulging with a whole lot of people going somewhere. Usually very quickly.
Anyway, we’ve all done the tourist stuff more than once. It’s here, we’re here. Duh.
Last week Oldest Daughter and her husband -who have season passes to just about everything in town- went to swim with the dolphins at the Seaquarium. It looks really cool, so I thought I’d post a picture…
Just click on it for the hi-res version.

pamibe: refuting idiocy daily. haha….
