truckboat“We’re taking the boat out” he said.
And so we did. But we didn’t get very far; the water pump is kaput. Pissed air instead of water. So while I sat on the dock talking on my cell, feet dangling over the boat, ["keeping watch"] Arthur welded something on the trailor. Then we went home.

Luckily Broward County has a canal every 20 feet, and about half [give me some leeway here, okay?] of them will take you to the intercoastal. With this come perks, like free boat ramps. At last count the county had 24 of these beauties, all very pretty. A park like atmosphere, small and large pavilions, at least 2 ramps. Loads of parking, and most have really nice docks.
And at every one of them two flags are flying: The Stars and Stripes, of course. They’re always nice to see.

And this one: POW/MIAThis is what I never expected to see flying in a county facility, but it just goes to show you that even I can still be surprised… and very pleased, to say the least.

These flags are not recent additions; they’ve been flying in these areas for years, reminding people of some basic truths. Freedom is not free. Those who serve, whether they return to their homes and families or not, are never forgotten.
These flags touch people. They are a constant reminder. And as long as these flags fly in Broward County parks, there will be a segment of the population telling traitors like john kerry to take a hike.

Thank God.
